Slayaway Camp 2: Netflix & Kill
Lead UI/UX Designer & 2D Artist

Project Overview
Slayaway Camp 2 reimagines the original game's level structure as a fictional horror streaming service, with each puzzle presented as its own movie.
As the sole UI/UX designer and 2D artist on the project, I was responsible for the entire front-end experience, including interface design, navigation flows, branding, illustration, implementation, and platform adaptation.
Streaming Service Interface
The core concept was to make level selection feel like browsing a horror streaming platform.
I designed a tile-based interface inspired by modern streaming services, adapting familiar browsing patterns for touchscreens and game controllers. Levels were organized as movies, complete with genre tags, ratings, and previews that reinforced the parody while helping players navigate the game's growing content library.
The system was built first for mobile, with a focus on fast navigation and clear touch targets across a wide range of screen sizes.
Custom Horror Box Art
One of the most enjoyable parts of the project was creating the artwork for each in-game movie.
I illustrated every box cover used throughout the interface, drawing inspiration from different horror subgenres including VHS slashers, found footage films, supernatural horror, and giallo. The goal was to make each title feel distinct while maintaining a consistent visual identity across the streaming platform.
Because the artwork was often viewed at small sizes, readability and silhouette were just as important as the jokes and references hidden within each design.
Adapting the Experience for PC & Console
After the mobile release, the interface was redesigned for PC and console platforms.
This required more than a simple layout adjustment. The original vertical mobile structure was rebuilt around widescreen displays, controller navigation, and living-room viewing distances.
I redesigned menus, focus states, navigation patterns, and screen layouts to support gamepads while maintaining the visual character of the mobile version. Font sizes, spacing, and information hierarchy were adjusted throughout to improve readability on televisions and larger displays.
Process & Production
The project was created using Illustrator, Photoshop, and Unity.
In addition to creating all UI artwork and interface layouts, I implemented much of the front-end directly in Unity and worked closely with engineering to support multiple resolutions, aspect ratios, and input methods.
Throughout development, navigation, readability, and controller interaction were tested and refined across mobile devices, PC, Steam Deck, and console environments.
Slayaway Camp 2 demonstrates the full range of my UI and visual design process, from concept development and branding through implementation and cross-platform adaptation.
The streaming service presentation became a defining part of the game's identity, while the custom artwork and platform-specific UX work helped create a consistent experience across mobile, PC, and console.
